Capstone Classical Program: Students in Grades 1-12 use accredited curriculum and work in small groups or individually at their own pace with qualified teachers. Classical components and methodology enhance this program so as to prepare students for future endeavors.
Capstone Diploma Program: This self-paced program is specifically designed for those people 17 and older who left high school without a diploma but want to earn one. Students are assigned specific courses based on an individual assessment and evaluation of a transcript. Courses are designed on the minimum Texas graduation requirements. As a private school, there is no state test required for graduation. Students are monitored on a regular basis but do not attend classes during our regular school day.
Our Honor Code represents an empowerment of the students and an expectation that each must take responsibility along with the faculty for upholding what is right.
I pledge to conduct myself at all times honorably and in a way that shows pride in my family, my school, my community and myself. As a person of honor:
I will show respect for academic honesty in all my scholastic efforts.
I will show respect for others in my words and actions.
I will show respect for property at all times.
I will show respect for myself in everything I do.
I understand that my academic work, conduct, attitude, personal honor, and the honor of my school are my personal responsibility. I accept my responsibility and will not passively participate in any violation by allowing it to continue when I know it is wrong. By living by this Honor Code, I accept my responsibility to do the right thing at all times even when no one is watching.
The School of Grammar (Grades 1-5) and School of Logic (Grade 6-8) use the faith-based Alpha-Omega curriculum with classical components enhancing the program to prepare students for the School of Rhetoric. Various texts are used to support the learning objectives.
The School of Rhetoric (Grades 9-12) offers an accredited program through Ashworth University High School. Classical methodology and components enhance the program to assure that our mission at Capstone Classical Academy is achieved. Students have an option of graduation plans, Academic or Advanced, either of which will prepare them for whatever post-secondary choice they may choose. An Honors Program is available for highly motivated students.
Our Diploma Program is designed for those who want to earn a high school diploma and are currently not enrolled in another high school. Options are available for anyone 17+ who left high school without a diploma. The program consists of courses designed on the minimum Texas graduation requirements and must be completed satisfactorily to earn a diploma. No state test is required as this is a private school.
School of Grammar/Logic Program uses the faith-based Alpha-Omega curriculum (www.alphaomegapublications.com) to assure that students are well-versed in math, science, history and language arts. Fine Arts enhance the program by integrating topics into the core areas.
School of Rhetoric Program consists of core requirements plus relative electives which provide sufficient history, language, math and science to enable students to be successful in college or any other post-secondary venture.
The Honors Program is available for grades 9-12 to provide the exceptional student with additional skills that result in the student qualifying for honors graduation status. This allows students who are advanced to be challenged, demonstrate their academic abilities to colleges, and potentially enter college with a number of college credits should they elect to enroll in dual credit courses. The dual credit course option is predominantly for 11th and 12th grade students.
